Arty is Tista's senior schoolmate.
His role in story is hope for Tista, because he choose light at the last minute.
Most of his behavior is passive, so his perplexity drives story.

This music represents his personality with impressions familiar with black culture such as graffiti.

At first, this music represents his personality by four-four time.
Second, this music represents his perplexity by roop of two-four / three-four / four-four time.
Next, this music goes rag-time style to express black culture.
Finally, this music goes four-four time, and shrinks to unison of left and right hand in the end.

ティスタに対しては希望を唱える役。だがそれ以外の場面では迷いに満ち、行動のほとんどは受動的だ。狂言回し的な役割をも担っているが、土壇場で光と闇があれば光を選ぶのは特筆に値する彼の個性だろう。 こうしたキャラクタ性とグラフティなど黒人文化に親しんでいる印象で曲を構成した。
外面を4拍子、迷いを2,3,4拍子の循環で表し、擬ラグタイム、混迷から4拍子に戻り、左右ユニゾンに収斂する。
